Handouts is a folder of content that participants can see and use when granted access. Presenters, Owners, Administrators and Writers can make certain content available for participants to export and save locally, before or during the event by placing content to be shared in a folder and then sharing that folder with participants. A Handouts folder must be created at the root, not within another folder. The steps to do this are explained below.
Create and share a folder
If the Content panel is not displayed, click on the Show content panel button. |
As a Presenter, Owner, Administrator or Writer in the event room, right click in the Content panel, hover over Add and choose Folder.
Create the folder at the root, do not create or move it into another folder. Participants will not see any content if the folder is not at the root level. |
Type the name of the new folder and click OK.
Right click on the new folder and choose Share handouts folder.
The folder icon will change so that you know it is a shared folder.
You can now click and drag content files into the shared folder.
The presenter grants participant access to the Handouts folder by choosing Configure room for participants by choosing the Tools to manage people and room features icon at the top of the People panel, checking the Handouts folder option and clicking the Apply button. Participants can now see the Shared Folder in the Content panel of their room.
Sharing unconverted files
You can share unconverted files such as PowerPoint or PDF files to your participants. Go to Settings and click on File handling.
Tick Upload original document when conversions are required. Click Save and then close the window.
Upload your PowerPoint or PDF file. It will be converted so it can be displayed in your HPE MyRoom. In addition, the original document will be uploaded as well. |
You can then drag the unconverted document into your Handouts folder so it is available for participants to download.
Stop sharing a solder
Right click on the shared folder and choose Stop sharing handouts folder. Participants will no longer see the folder displayed in their Handouts panel. |
